Veins of Crystal and Blood
Amalthea was a primarily human nation that maintained itself in the central regions of the continent.
Amalthea was a theocracy lead by the priests of Ashur, the king who claimed himself a god. Slavery was a cornerstone of their culture and eventually the slaves revolted lead by Lothar, the bastard son of Ashur and a slave woman, and overturned the government, killing all the priests and followers of their god-king as well as all those in political power that they could reach. Ashur and Lothar died in combat against one another, the details of which are mystery and legend. All others were exiled, most fleeing west into Daraska (which some use to explain Daraskan corruption, though it may have simply added fuel to that fire). Most of the Tieflings of Norrain are descended from the few nobles that managed to somehow escape being executed.
